Industrial Survey – February 2008
Navarra businessmen’s confidence in industry evolution has decreased slightly.
There are signs of a mild fall in confidence in the evolution of production trends and of order portfolios for industrial goods.
Uncertainty signs in the industrial climate have had stronger effects on metal products and transport materials. Growth in these sectors has slowed down slightly after their recovery of the last few months. This negative trend is made up for by the pick-ups in the agrifood, paper, wood and furniture industries.
The industrial climate indicators for Spain reflect the most negative trends, while the EU and Navarra indicators show signs of uncertainty in business expectations, after the stable profile observed in January.
The industrial climate indicators reflect industrialists’ impressions of production trends, order portfolios, and stocks. The data are collected in the Industrial Survey conducted by the Navarra Statistics Institute.
