Javier Caballero Martínez.
Javier Caballero Martínez was born in Pamplona on 13 September 1961. He is married with three children.
Following his Primary and Secondary education at the San Ignacio School in Pamplona, he read Law at the University of Navarre between 1979 and 1984.
A practising lawyer since 1984, he was secretary of the Pamplona Bar Association in 1997 and 1998 and in 1999 he was elected president (until June 2003). Since 2000 (until June 2003) he has been the treasurer of the Consejo General del la Abogacía Española – Spain’s General Law Council and a member of its Permanent Commission. As a lawyer, from November 2006 he is member of the Governing Board of the School of Law of the General Board of the Judiciary and was awarded the Great Merit Cross in the Exercise of Law, granted by the General Board of Spanish Lawyers, as well as the badge of gold and brilliants of the Bar Association of Pamplona.
Between January 2000 and June 2003 he was president of the Foundation Tomas Caballero and between September 2000 and February 2004 he was president of the public company Autopistas de Navarra, S.A. (AUDENASA).
From October 2003 he is member of the Board for the Transfer of State Services to the Foral Community of Navarre and he also occupies the following positions: member of the Navarre Foundation for Quality (from July 2004); president of the Administrative Board of the company Tasaciones y Consultoria, SA. And of Tasaciones y Consultoria Gestion y Servicios (from November 2005); president of the Foral Commission for the Evaluation of the Public Policies and of the Quality of the Public Services (from February 2006).
During the legislature 2003-2007 he was councillor of Presidency, Justice and Interior, and he will occupy this position again during this legislature 2007-2011, together with the First Vice President of the Government of Navarre.
