Amelia Salanueva Murguialday
She was born in Estella the 19th of March 1966. She is married and has two children.
She has a degree in Law by the University of Zaragoza and one in Legal Practice by that same University.
She has been working as a lawyer for the Government of Navarre and she has been working as a lawyer in Pamplona. At present she is a member of the Bar Association of Pamplona, though she does not work as a lawyer anymore.
In the area of politics she has been councillor of the City Council of Estella (1991-1999) and spokesman of the municipal party Navarre People’s Union (UPN). She was also a member of the parliament of the Foral Community of Navarre during the IV, V and VI legislatures, during which she was part of the Board of the Parliament of the Foral Community, being appointed second secretary and first vice president. She was also spokesman of Navarre People’s Union (UPN) at the Parliament during the VI legislature, until March 2004. That year she was elected Senator for Navarre, and she occupied that post until this moment.
Besides, she has formed part of the Executive Board of Navarre Youth (Juventudes Navarras (JJ.NN)) and of the Executive Committee of Navarre People’s Union (UPN), and still forms part of it at present.
In August 2007 she was appointed councillor of the Local Administration of the Government of Navarre.
